I am trying to get in contact with any and all people that share the surname WETZOLD! I am trying to trace the family genealogy and know there are at least two (different) lines of this family living in the USA – I would like to get in contact with those of you still living in Germany (or anywhere else) and see if the lines can be traced further back and/or connected.
I am not looking for weird vital information in order to scam anyone – just genealogy info. In this day and age of the internet and Facebook and such I figure it might be easier to connect.
The info. I am looking for is basically what, if any, ancestry information you have. Do you know your grandparents’ names and info? How about your great grandparents? Further back?
What city were you born? Where do you live now?
Have you heard any family stories?
If you are here in America – when did your family get here?
Thank you so much for reading and I hope to hear from you!

These four maps of Boston, Massachusetts (MA), were published in 1905 by the Boston Municipal Printing Office, in a small booklet entitled “Series of Plans of Boston showing Existing Ways and Owners of Property 1630 – 1635 – 1640 – 1645.” Compiled by George Lamb, from Town Records, Book of Possessions, Massachusetts (MA) Bay Records, Savage’s Winthrop, Lechford’s Diary, Aspinwall’s Notarial Records and Suffolk County Deeds. Property owners’ names are shown as of 1630, 1635, 1640, 1645.
There are some mentioned of the Pelton surname originating in Essex, England – but there is no proof as to whether our first ancestor in America – John Pelton – actually came from Essex. So, in order to figure out his origin we need to look at the facts that we already know. If you are researching this person please feel free to leave a comment and share what you know! Remember – facts only! We want cited sources.

I think I’ve finally figured out that – in fact (after hearing it from my father all these years) – our family hails from the Brandenburg area of Germany. I speak ZERO German (except some swear words and “1, 2, 3, drink!”) so hopefully, Google Translate will be kind to me in my research!

I had his parents listed as:
Then, I found a potential sister of Otto … I say “potential” because I have no proof, just a search from FamilySearch.org. I don’t have my usual access to Ancestry.com to look further.
