Even Apple is jumping onboard with their support of voting NO on California’s Proposition 8 (which outlaw’s gay marriage). The company issued the following statement on their website:
October 24, 2008
Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.
A person cannot help who they fall in love with – gay or straight, everyone deserves a chance to be married to the one they love. Did anyone “vote” to see if YOU could get married?? If you are a California resident please consider voting no this November on Proposition 8.
Here are a couple videos to watch that are in support of voting no to Proposition 8:
<br>Amy Brennaman, Tyne Daly, Christine Lahti, Sara Ramirez, Dolores Huerta, Camryn Manheim, Melonie Diaz, Sally Kirkland, Carolyn Hennesy and DJ’S Frangela are among those who joined out Actors Wilson Cruz, Heather Matarazzo & Caroline Murphy, and Jillian Armenante & her wife, Alice Dodd to support the gay grassroots all volunteer campaign, “Vote No on 8”.
