Daylight Savings Sucks

What are you saving!? Everyone woke up late and didn’t want to get out of bed! The Boy-child missed the bus and I had to wake up the Fairy-Baby and take Boy-Child to school! Plus – I have a splitting headache and am running out of time before I have to take the baby for a doctor visit. I chugged my coffee and ate some cheese cubes; still hungry! I want some Bojangles!

Bleh … I’m not working today, maybe I can convince the baby to take a nap later …

Itching to Create

My fab husband “allowed” me to drop him and the kids off at home and wander around the craft store for over an hour last night! It was therapeutic certainly – I needed a “night out” even if it was a short one.

I was on a quest to pick up some ribbon to make some hairbows for my daughter – nothing fancy since I’m really not wanting to get into making all those insane “designer” hairbows. I have enough friends I can order them from!

I was also on the hunt for some trinkets and bits to make a necklace. I found a sweet “steampunk” style necklace over on Pinterest and I was dying to try and recreate it! I found a lot of similar charms at the craft store. Just missing a small rose-looking “bead” of some sort. The necklace I’m trying to recreate is pictured to the left.

I found some light silver wings – which I’m not crazy about so I picked up some metallic coppery paint and some metallic “gun metal” colored paint and will see which color will mesh best with the other charms I purchased.

I’m excited to see how this turns out! I haven’t made jewelry (or anything else for that matter) in awhile now!

I Love My Dentist

Okay, you don’t hear that often – I mean that someone actually likes their dentist – but really, I do. I asked friends where they go for dentistry in Virginia Beach and my friend Melissa takes her kids to Dr. Bredologos and has been for years. When I called to make my own appointment (well – one for me and also my seven year old as well) we were assigned Dr. Mendrinos (who is actually the sister of Dr. Bredologos!)

My first appointment – the first cleaning I’ve had in over 5 years – took forever. I don’t take care of my teeth like I should and the poor hygienist had to scrape the hell out of my teeth. She chatted with me while she worked and was super nice. I realized though that I had been gripping the seat handles the entire time.

The next visit was a cavity fill – a BIG one – and I was so incredibly amped up and nervous. The last time I had work done on my teeth was my wisdom teeth removal and it was hell! It hurt – everything hurt – even the giant needle they used to numb me up. I even screamed during the appointment because I was absolutely FREAKING OUT! But – as soon as Dr. Mendrinos began to talk to me about my nervousness it went out the window. I was worried I’d flip out and asked her if I could have “the gas” and she said she didn’t think I’d need it but if at ANY time during the procedure I felt that I was losing it she’d give it to me. I barely felt her numbing my mouth and didn’t feel anything during the procedure. Between Dr. Mendrinos and her hygienist talking to me during the procedure – I was completely calm.

They is a relaxing aura about the place. I’ve never EVER felt that at any dentist office. I’m seriously going to miss them once we move to Hawaii and I have to find a new dentist!

Hey – I wasn’t paid ANYTHING or even asked to write this. I just wanted to! Just letting you know!

Hooray For Broken Laptops

Yeah, not really … I wrote out this long post for the blog the other day, then left the room to finish getting ready for work. Baby Girl (16 months) then apparently decided that the laptop better belonged on the floor. So, she knocked it off the side table.

I tried to turn it on but it wasn’t working right. I heard it trying to turn on – but wasn’t seeing anything on the screen.

Long story short – the monitor is broken. Which in my mind is way better than a hard-drive failure because I can replace the monitor; I didn’t have everything on the hard-drive backed up.

So, the Husband backed it all up – or it’s in the process of backing up as we speak. Might take awhile.

Urg … This sucks – but it could have been way worse!

Aside from having a broken laptop …. it’s been a nice couple days! It’s March 1st and about 80 degrees and super sunny! I guess I should get used to weather like this.

We got our orders to HAWAII!! 🙂

Getting Back on Track

So, now that my three-months of hosting is about to expire with Namecheap (because I only paid for three months, not for some shifty reason) – I’m finally getting back on track.

Except – I think Juliana (the baby) has a radar for when Mommy is on the laptop because I hear her getting cranky from the playroom. She may be just mad at some toys though.

lol … I used the word “Mommy” and in my Zemanta sidebar on this LiveWriter program I am getting naked shots of people who have undergone the “Mommy Makeover” plastic surgery. Heh … thanks for the humor this morning Zemanta!

Speaking of Mommy Makeovers – you can find me on because my fat ass is trying to lose weight! Huzzah! Are you on the site? It’s actually super, duper helpful! I am one of those OCD types who have to write down everything they eat in order to stay on track … The one thing that the MFP app (for the iPhone at least) has that the SparkPeople app doesn’t? The ability to scan bar-codes and get nutritional information! Hence – I’m using MFP instead of SparkPeople.

Okay – I really have to jump in the shower and get ready for work now. Just wanted to check in with my readers and let them know am I still sortof alive here.
