Give a Brighter Year with AstroBright Paper!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Astrobrights Papers by Neenah Paper for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When it comes to paper products I always look for certain criteria: bright colors, acid-free and well-priced. I feel like I am always printing off things for my kids to create or color from the computer – so I need to be a little frugal with my paper choices. I also love to scrapbook and need acid-free so that my creations will last!

I'm really excited to share with my readers an awesome sweepstakes brought to you by a company called AstroBright – creater of brilliantly colored, fine quality paper that is acid-free, lignin-free, and recycled ! It's called the "Give a Brighter Year" sweepstakes!"

Just visit Astrobrights on Facebook and and click the “Like” button – then the “Go to App!” button. Fill out the small questionaire and you will be entered for a chance to win $30,000 in supplies for your favorite school (and a little $500 gift card for you too!)

Our family just relocated to Hawaii – where the public school system is seriously lacking in resources. So this contest would be an excellent opportunity for my son's elementary school to aquire extra money for much needed supplies!

Then – once you've entered the sweepstakes – then go ahead and check out the family-friendly "Make Something Astrobright" design challenges!

Today's challenge just happens to be “Unleash your Flower Power” – where you get to show off your beautiful, creative colorful paper flowers! You could even win $200!

Check out the AstroBright Facebook page for more details!

This Is No Vacation Bro!

Someone on Tumblr joked that I was on vacation. I responded with something along the lines of “this isn’t a vacation – no one has handed me a Pina Colada or Mai Tai yet!” I’ve certainly needed a hearty drink after dealing with two little ones who just don’t GET the whole “we’re in the Navy kids – so suck it up!” I completely understand what they are going through. I really do. Transitions are difficult and transitions that take you across the entire continental United States all the way to an ISLAND are even more so.

Xander is already making friends – our neighborhood (“Navy housing”) is FULL of kids! Plus, the school he is attending is a 2 mile walk round-trip so he has time to see/meet kids on the walk to school.

Juliana is having fun – but her “clock” is a little wonky and we haven’t really come up with a routine yet. Her normal routine is getting up around 7am and sitting on the couch watching Disney JR while I get Xander ready for school. Here? We have THE most uncomfortable couch in the universe (“boonie” furniture) and no cable. We did buy a new television – a 32 inch that will eventually go in our bedroom! It has a built in DVD player though – so I’ve been running plenty of Barney and Sesame Street movies for her to enjoy.

It’s beautiful here. I can’t wait to explore the island more.

But – I’m seriously missing my friends from back home.

On the plus side – I’ve met a lot of cool people!

Everything will be okay.

Quick Island Check-In

We made it to Oahu, Hawaii!! I’m blogging on my phone, so this won’t be long!

Just wanted to check-in!

It’s an Up-Do Kinda Day

I don’t feel like taking a shower this morning. I took one yesterday and I’m feeling LAZY this morning. So, I am trying out some “hair powder” (fancy word for dry shampoo) that I got in a Birchbox a couple months ago. It’s called Lulu Organics Hair Powder
and I’ll be honest – it smells a bit “old lady” but we shall see.

I had to rub it into my hair and scalp. Then brush my hair.

I hate to brush my hair! Even my mama knows that! Ahh well … All for beauty right?

Oh and side note! Juliana is already in the tub because she took off her damn diaper some time last night! Her diaper was DRY this morning – but she was swimming in pee. Ugh … No more nightgowns until she knocks that shit off.

I’ve really got no idea … It’s Tuesday! I think I only update on Tuesdays lately. Xander is taking forever to eat his breakfast this morning and the baby isn’t awake yet so I have some time to sip my coffee and play online.

My stupid Keurig hasn’t worked for a couple weeks now. We tried de-scaling it and “re-booting” it to no avail. My husband needs to call their customer service and I’m pretty sure he won’t. Yet another thing left up to me.

Still have to find a new home for our dog, Samson before we move. Before we go to Boston on vacation actually. We leave for Boston on the 15th – so he better move!

We leave for Florida mid-July for a couple weeks.

We leave for Hawaii on the 24th of July.

For three years.

It’s Tuesday, It’s Raining

I woke up in a nice mood – until I began POURING OUTSIDE! (Better than pouring inside I suppose.)

It’s coffee time, bitches!

Ps. I’m running a contest on my “other” blog Atomic-Mama … go … look!
