Rain, Rain Go Away

It’s kinda rainy here today in Hawaii … So, between snuggling with my 2 year old Fairy Girl and doing some online work I am CLEANING! Dishwasher has already run (need to empty it and refill it) and the laundry is ready to be washed.

I also mopped the hallway! Yay! My goal is to finish straightening the living room and get the sink EMPTIED! I also need to make the 8 year old pick up the clean laundry off the laundry room floor and sort it into baskets to be folded and put away. He hates that shit. I love to torture him 😉

Eating something food-like would probably be a good idea also.

I Think I Need a Reality Check – Or a Lobotomy

So, a patient on American Horror Story: Asylum got a lobotomy which turned her personality from post-partum psychotic disassociative disordered nut job to happy-go-lucky (yet creepy Stepford Wife-like) housewife. I though for a second there that – perhaps I could benefit from this incredibly invasive procedure.

Or I’d end up like Babydoll from Sucker Punch.

I’m in a funk here in this BEAUTIFUL land of palm trees and sunshine. My house is a damn mess. I’ve always had issues keeping my home clean but now I’ve come to the conclusion that it REALLY BOTHERS ME.

I don’t LIKE being an potential cast-member on Hoarders.

My friends have busted ASS helping me clean. My family? Not to much.

Today is my 10 year wedding anniversary. For TEN YEARS I’ve been married to my handsome high-school sweetheart. I have two beautiful kids.

But – I’m done being the designated driver in this family. I cannot and WILL NOT maintain the home, deal with meal planning and cooking and stay on top of education and entertainment for my kids by MYSELF.

Maybe if I essentially ‘call him out’ in public it will motivate him to help me more?

Give a Brighter Year with AstroBright Paper!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Astrobrights Papers by Neenah Paper for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When it comes to paper products I always look for certain criteria: bright colors, acid-free and well-priced. I feel like I am always printing off things for my kids to create or color from the computer – so I need to be a little frugal with my paper choices. I also love to scrapbook and need acid-free so that my creations will last!

I'm really excited to share with my readers an awesome sweepstakes brought to you by a company called AstroBright – creater of brilliantly colored, fine quality paper that is acid-free, lignin-free, and recycled ! It's called the "Give a Brighter Year" sweepstakes!"

Just visit Astrobrights on Facebook and and click the “Like” button – then the “Go to App!” button. Fill out the small questionaire and you will be entered for a chance to win $30,000 in supplies for your favorite school (and a little $500 gift card for you too!)

Our family just relocated to Hawaii – where the public school system is seriously lacking in resources. So this contest would be an excellent opportunity for my son's elementary school to aquire extra money for much needed supplies!

I’ve really got no idea … It’s Tuesday! I think I only update on Tuesdays lately. Xander is taking forever to eat his breakfast this morning and the baby isn’t awake yet so I have some time to sip my coffee and play online.

My stupid Keurig hasn’t worked for a couple weeks now. We tried de-scaling it and “re-booting” it to no avail. My husband needs to call their customer service and I’m pretty sure he won’t. Yet another thing left up to me.

Still have to find a new home for our dog, Samson before we move. Before we go to Boston on vacation actually. We leave for Boston on the 15th – so he better move!

We leave for Florida mid-July for a couple weeks.

We leave for Hawaii on the 24th of July.

For three years.

Friday Fives: My Five Favorite Authors

So, it’s Sunday – so as usual I am late to the party. But my friend Elizabeth has this fun ‘meme’ and I want to participate – plus, I know she’ll be ok with me being late. She’s cool like that.

This week – I am asked to choose my five favorite authors!

  1. JK Rowling
  2. Stephen King
  3. Anne Rice
  4. VC Andrews
  5. Suzanne Collins (she wrote The Hunger Games – which I am currently obsessed with!)

Check out more Friday Fives!
