Oh These Shoes

I’m not much of a shoe-girl … I can’t walk in heels and I’m more into comfort than style. That said – these are amazing!

Apparently, they are from the Alexander McQueen winter/fall collection? I have no freaking idea … I’d never be able to walk in them – but they sure are marvelous!

Kaboost Portable Booster Seat

Here is a blast from the past that I’ve realized I need now! Except – now it’s for a 1 year old Juliana and not a 3 year old Xander! My fairy-baby is so short that even in a high-chair (not a stand-alone) she’s a little short for the table. She has a tray – but when I need her at the “table” (like, for making fun messes and coloring) I think she needs a little boost!

I think I’m going to check the local thrift stores for this Kaboost Portable Booster Seat … Or suck it up and buy it online.

Back to School with Tiny Prints!

??This year, my six year old son Xander will be a first grader! You want to know why he’s super excited to be in the first grade? He gets to eat lunch at school.

Yep! Nothing about learning or seeing his friends (which I know he’s excited about – I mean – the friends part at least). He is just ready to be a big kid and carry a lunch bag (featuring Nintendo’s Mario of course) and put more than just a folder in his backpack (again, featuring Mario!)

What can I say – he’s a geek!

We’ve done the school shopping and he was thrilled to follow the list we received from the school and throw his supplies into the cart at the store. Real supplies! Not just a bunch of folders! He gets a pencil case, notebooks, folders, glue, crayons, pencils … did I mention a PENCIL CASE!? I’m on the hunt to find some neat stickers to put on it. Too bad I can’t find Mario, lol!

I also have a label some of the new stuff we bought – so I’m happy I have some of those cool labels that stick to his stuff! I have clothing ones that don’t come off in the wash and also water-proof ones I can stick on anything else!

You can find these cool labels I speak of (as well as tons of other super neat back-to-school stuff) at a lovely little internet shop called Tiny Prints!

Tiny Prints has greeting cards for any occasion of course – but their back to school stuff is super cute! They have stationary for teachers that is just adorable (I need to send my friend the link – she’d just love it!) They also have address labels, gift tags, lunch box notes, allergy cards, play date cards (so smart!) and teacher appreciation cards. You will also find planners, notebooks and photo books!

So much cute stuff – you really need to check out Tiny Prints! I’ve used them before and was impressed by the quality and price of my cards. Great company!

Happy Back-to-School Time!

Stylish Maternity Clothing for Hip Moms

It’s never been more stylish to be pregnant right now! Gone are the days of the jumpsuits, “moo-moo” dresses and just plain shapeless clothes. There are some adorable (and sexy) clothes on the market just for Mama’s-to-be and they aren’t at all hard on the budget!

One such place to find stylish maternity clothes is Apple Seed Boutique. Apple Seed Maternity and Baby Boutique offers a selection of chic and stylish maternity clothes for the trendy and fashionable mom-to-be. We offer the latest styles in designer maternity dresses, fun maternity tops and maternity jeans from designers like Citizens of Humanity, Paige, Olian, Ripe, Japanese Weekend, Maternal America, Michael Stars, and many more.

Apple Seed also has gorgeous diaper bags, children’s clothing, gifts for both Mom and Baby as well as organic skincare products. They even sell Bugaboo strollers and gear!

While trolling around the website I found some pretty cool clothes! I’m going to be finished with this pregnancy in a couple weeks so I was mostly looking for stuff I could get away with now or stuff that I could nurse the baby in. For a work holiday party I figured that this Maternal America strapless tiered dress would be great! It could be dressed up or down and would allow easy access for the baby to nurse. I also found a ton of GlamourMom nursing tank tops as well as lots of nursing bras.

If you are in the market for maternity clothes or cool gifts for a baby shower you absolutely need to check out Apple Seed Boutique!

You can find Apple Seed Boutique on both Facebook and Twitter!

Also – if you are local to the Washington DC / Alexandria, Virginia area you can visit their flagship store located at 115 South Columbus St. Alexandria, VA 22324.

Baby Shower Photos

Baby Shower - October 9, 2010

Two of my good friends – Melissa and Angie – threw me a baby shower this past Saturday. I was amazed at how many of my dear friends showed up! I felt so supported and loved – it was so awesome!

I received so many different things for Baby Girl! Some clothes, some diapers, some bath stuff – I can’t complain at all! She’s so covered now! I still need to grab just a few more things for her like another sleeper (the zip up kind) along with some sheets for the co-sleeper. I also need to grab some “girly” receiving blankets (we’ve still got ALL of Xander’s baby stuff but a little pink wouldn’t hurt, lol). I also want to pick up a Bundle Me for the car seat. I also would like to snag a Pink Boppy Changing Pad Set as well as a pretty pink Boppy cover.

Here are the rest of the photos uploaded to Flickr!

I’m thinking of making a trip over to BabiesRUs and using the 10% off coupon they sent me. Might make that trip this weekend so that hubby can help out (him and Xander like to shop for the baby also).

Still need to solidify baby memory book plans. I’ve decided to make it – scrapbook style – so I need to visit the local scrapbook store and see if they have any premade “baby book” inserts. I already have an empty 8.5×11 book but I need to grab some girly fabric – so I assume a trip to Joanne’s is on the agenda also.

Need to finish cleaning the guestroom so my parents have a place to sleep when they get here. OMG so much to do!
