I personally LOVED the original Cars movie! So I am super duper excited about this new sequel opening up on June 24th!

Here’s the synopsis:

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own – international espionage!

Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer).  Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.

The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors!

image001

In just ONE WEEK Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure! Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

JEM! Totally Outrageous!

I am so totally excited to announce this news! jemThe Hub Television network, a destination for kids and their families, has acquired two popular animated hit series that build on the network’s strategy of providing programming that kids and families can enjoy together. The iconic and beloved pop-culture series “Jem and the Holograms,” which originally aired in the late 1980s, will join The Hub’s schedule weekdays beginning Tuesday, May 31, at 7 p.m. ET (with encore performances throughout each day) and on Saturdays at 10 a.m. ET.

A special sneak peek of the first 6 episodes of “Jem and the Holograms” will be presented on Saturday, May 28, from 2-5 p.m. ET.

The series “Jem and the Holograms” ran from 1985-’88 in first-run syndication and still boasts a loyal and vocal fan base. It is frequently credited with influencing fashion in the late 1980s and beyond, and launching the careers of female pop-rock stars and music groups. The series follows Jerrica Benton, whose discovery of Synergy, a powerful computer companion, allows her to transform from co-owner of Starlight Music into rock star Jem. Teaming with her sister and best friends who form The Holograms, Jem sets out to make their musical dreams come true, even as she battles against the ruthless Eric Raymond and his musical protégés, The Misfits. The series was a joint collaboration of Hasbro Inc., Marvel Productions, as well as Sunbow Productions and was acquired from the Hasbro Studios library.

Winnie the Pooh the Reboot

image001Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with “Winnie the Pooh,” the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years. With the timeless charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical “bear of very little brain” and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.

“Ever have one of those days where you just can’t win, Eeyore?” asks Pooh.

Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some honey.

Zooey Deschanel (“Almost Famous,” “(500) Days of Summer”) joins Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood, performing three songs for the film, including her own take on the classic “Winnie the Pooh” theme song, “A Very Important Thing to Do” and the original end-credit song “So Long,” which was written by Deschanel and performed with She & Him bandmate M. Ward.

image002“I’m a big fan of Winnie the Pooh and all his friends,” says Deschanel, who also plays the ukulele in the song. “It’s really hard to pick a favorite: Winnie the Pooh is so special, he loves honey and he’s just cool. Eeyore is amazing, I love Eeyore. And Piglet is so small. It’s really a four-way tie between Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger.”

Among the songs Deschanel performed for the film is “A Very Important Thing to Do”—a song that helps illustrate the contest the friends from the Hundred Acre Wood take on to find Eeyore a new tail. She also lent her voice to “Everything is Honey” and “Pooh’s Finale,” joining Jim Cummings (the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger), Tony Award®-winning songwriter Robert Lopez (“Avenue Q”) and other cast members.

For the end-credit song, Deschanel teamed up with Ward to perform “So Long,” a song Deschanel wrote.  “When I was writing ‘So Long,’ I just held the images for the end credits in my mind,” she says. “I spent a number of days tinkering with ideas, melodies and chord progressions that I thought would fit the images, the new music being written and the original Sherman Brothers stuff– but still be my own thing. The song definitely has its own feel, but also pays respect to the original.”

Inspired by three stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, “Winnie the Pooh” hits theaters in select international markets in Spring 2011; the U.S. release date is July 15, 2011.

Watch Zooey talk about “So Long” and her love of Pooh Bear!

Who is your favorite character from the Hundred Acre Wood? Mine’s Eeyore – I can identify with that sad little emo guy, lol

Nickelodeon is Bringing Back the 90’s

camp-anawanna-lgNickelodeon will launch a new nighttime programming block this fall on TeenNick called "The ’90s Are All That!," featuring a rotating selection of iconic live-action and animated shows from Nickelodeon’s 1990s library including All That, Clarissa Explains it All, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Rugrats, Rocket Power, Salute Your Shorts, The Amanda Show and Kenan & Kel. "The ’90s Are All That!" has been developed in part as a response to overwhelming demand from fans of Nickelodeon’s groundbreaking original series from the 1990s. There are more than 9 million fans of Nickelodeon’s ’90s programming on Facebook alone.

"The ’90s Are All That!" will air Monday through Sunday from midnight to 2:00 a.m. (ET), starting fall 2011. The block will feature a rotating line-up of ’90s Nick library content, as well as forthcoming acquisitions and feature films from the decade.

Which 90’s Nick show is your favorite? Mine was Salute Your Shorts as well as Roundhouse which unfortunately doesn’t seem to be included in the new show line up. Boo! I was totally singing the intro for Salute Your Shorts the other day and my friends had no idea what I was talking about. Ahh well …

Two Original Tracks On New Glee Album

COLUMBIA RECORDS GLEE VOLUME 5Glee’s musical masterminds will release their latest album, Glee: The Music, Volume 5. We were led to believe that all of the songs on the disc were covers of other artists, but we’ve now learned that two of the tracks are actually Glee’s first ORIGINAL SONGS! The last episode that aired was where they were discussing possibly writing two songs for their upcoming Regional competition – these must be those songs!

According to the press release, Loser Like Me is "an energetic ensemble track," co-written by pop mastermind Max Martin " while Get It Right is a "moving ballad brought to life by Lea Michele’s immense voice.”

I’m really excited about hearing these songs as well as the other songs on the album (er, again). Thriller/Heads Will Roll was stuck in my head for DAYS after the episode aired!
